Greenwich, CT — The Byram Shubert Branch Library was issued a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) today and will officially open for business on Saturday, March 28 at 9:00 a.m.
The branch library collection features materials for children and adults and expanded offerings for young adults. The young adult collection highlights the latest and most popular materials including graphic novels and critically acclaimed books. A new periodicals section will include more magazines and newspapers.
A notice with specific details about a Dedication Ceremony will be distributed soon. The hours of the Byram Shubert Library are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The New Byram Shubert Library Will Feature:
- Increased number of computers from 6 to 22
- Separate areas for adults, children, and teens
- Community Room with 125 person seating capacity
- ADA compliant renovations
- Additional hours of operation
- Added space for more programs, including: ESL classes, Technology training, Career counseling, Book discussion groups, Author lectures, After school tutoring
Total Campaign Goal:
$4.8 million.
The Library was built in 1974 and totals approximately 5,000 square feet; the expansion will roughly double its size.
